After hosting a series of workshops on raising awareness for mental health and well-being in
Government Middle School kawoosa Narbal, Government Girls Higher Secondary School
Batmallo Srinagar and Government High School Nussu Anantnag, JK Centre for Peace and
Justice Foundation (JKCPJ) successfully conducted another workshop on mental health at
Government higher secondary school, Zainakote, Srinagar.
JKCPJ mental health expert Syed Manaal Andrabi addressed school children and discussed the
importance of mental well-being and the need to openly speak about it. She discussed various
issues like exam pressure, and drug abuse that is rising amongst youth and needs medical
attention and counseling. The students and teachers expressively highlighted their concerns
and challenges with our mental health expert and were delighted with this initiative. The
administration thanked the team JKCPJ for enlightening the students and assured the Director
of the collaboration for future endeavors.
It is worth mentioning that JK Centre of Peace and Justice Foundation is a multi-disciplinary
research foundation that advocates the redressal of different global challenges under which the
centre started the initiative of raising mental health awareness across different schools in
Jammu and Kashmir. Programme is part of JKCPJ’s statewide initiative “Student’s Connect
2022” aiming to recognize and enhance strengths, and promote positive outcomes in young
