Beyond Victimhood

We strongly believe that victims of the conflict have the right to remedy and reparation. The real essence of justice lies in providing the right of remedies to victims. Both international and domestic law recognizes the right of remedy to victims as a basic concept of justice. Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Peace and Justice (JKCPJ) in its endeavour is passionately involved to access remedy for victims. We at JKCPJ are adherent to promote an environment for victims to look beyond being victims. The consequences that victims face include physical, socioeconomic and psychosocial effects. JKCPJ is keen to assist victims of conflict by its commitment to educate them, thus making them self-reliant and self-sustainable. JKCPJ’s commitment to educating the victims of conflict has been socially accepted and appreciated.

Striving for Sustainable Peace

The driving concern of the Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Peace and Justice is bringing people together to accomplish things in an environment of trust to strive for sustainable peace. Education is acknowledged as a key component of effective rehabilitation by JKCPJ. Our mechanism transmits knowledge, hope, hard work, and successfully contributing to the development of humankind.

Positive Youth Development

JKCPJ is dedicated to screening, understanding and empowering the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. We work for positive youth development by providing them space and opportunities to contribute to a peaceful, sustainable and developed society. Youth needs the ability and empowerment to take part in decision-making and bring change in common lives. JKCPJ’s efforts resulted in the proactive involvement of youth towards making a positive contribution to society. The process of youth involvement set out the extensive road map to be followed in shaping the ideology and change their own lives and the lives of others. We focus on academic and technical skills and offer opportunities to envision a bright future.

Voice to the Voiceless

JKCPJ focuses on concerns that are unheard, gives voice to the voiceless and ensures access to justice. Our mission is to strive for sustainable peace and work to develop effective,accountable, and transparent institutions at all levels. JKCPJ aims to encourage voices from all quarters. Our concerns also include ending abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence. We will work passionately to ensure equal access to justice for all.

Sustainable Development

We value the importance of sustainable development keeping into consideration the needs of the future generation. JKCPJ aims to become a catalyst of change to promote prosperity while protecting the planet in general and J&K in particular. The sustainable development Goals (SDGs), also known as Global Goals, adopted by all United Nations Member states in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Peace and Justice support the achievement of the SDGs by UN member states and is eager to work for a sustainable future of the region.

Bridging the Gap

The fundamental goal of JKCPJ is to provide space to youth. The majority of the population in Kashmir comprises youth which proves the fact that youth are shaping the present, and they only are going to shape the future. The spaces for dialogue and deliberations are limited and JKCPJ is bridging the gap.
